Why is my paint peeling?

I just painted my bedroom, which before was the kids room. It had white, green, and blue stripes in sateen finish, so the guy at home depot said to get 1-2-3 bull eyes primer. So I applied a coat of that, let it dry for an hour or so, then put a coat of my eggshell finish paint on. My husband globbed on the first coat so I had to wait until the next day to do the second coat. When I went in there tonight to move our bed in there, the bed frame scraped against the wall and the paint peeled off very easily, down to the stripes from before. Now the stuff can just come off really easily with my nail. One thing I should mention is that the room is in the back of the house and the walls literally have a coat of mist on them like when you're in a car with all the windows closed and your breaths fogs them up...can anyone give me any tips? Does my paint need to "set" in? I just did the last coat Sunday and today is Wednesday....thanks

The biggest problems i see from what you said are the fact that there is so much moisture, and the fact that your hubby globbed the paint on with the first coat. What I would do, and you probably don't want to hear this, is to wash the walls with TSP to remove any sheen, then prime (1-2-3 is an excellent product), then paint with 2 thinner coats. While the paint is drying, run a dehumidifier in the room. It's a lot of work, but it will look nice and hold up. Make hubby pay for the paint......
